My Insanity...

Let me first start off by saying, I began this blog to make it easier to link to other peoples blogs. I read them almost daily. After checking my regular blogs I came back to my blog & thought to myself, "I wonder if this one's written a post yet". DUH! It's MY blog.

That, I believe, is the definition of Insanity!

Hi Mercy,

I came across your blog through Candy's blog, which I have been readind daily for 6/7 months now.
My name is Lara, I'm Portuguese and live near Lisbon. I consider myself a wife/mother/homemaker, although I also do some translations, mostly because I feel the pressure to earn money. But I'm thinking about stopping with the translations since I want to homeschool my 5-year old daughter.
As you, I'm not as self-disciplined as Candy is but I'm learning! For me, it is very important to read about other women's experiences because in Portugal, it is almost impossible to find someone who shares my ideas. More than 90 per cent of women work outside the home and feel that staying at home is for lazy women (even Christian women think like this) and, in what concerns homeschooling, there are not more than 20 children doing it in a country with 10 million inhabitants!
God bless you and your family and I hope we will keep in touch.

Hi Laura,
I'm so glad to "meet" you. :-D Yes, I would love to live the dream I have in my head of being a supportive and submissive wife, an active, involved, graceful, loving mama, and of course an imaculate example of serventhood in my home. BUT, more often I find myself drifting in all areas of my role. I guess we just get up and keep trying.

And, I can relate to feeling out of the ordinary in staying home. (and homeschooling!) It can be a hard enough battle in our own hearts to keep ourselves where we truly need to be, but then add in others comments & it can be unbearable sometimes.

May God strengthen you in your walk as you fufill your calling!:-D
